Siphonic roof drainage in Manisa
The one project completed in Manisa is in the Turgutlu 1st organised industrial zone: the roof of an 8,500 m² galvanising plant. It sits in the middle of our size range and shows clearly how roof drainage is laid out in a metal processing building.
Turgutlu and its surroundings are a cluster of metal processing and galvanising plants. In buildings like these the production floor is full of equipment, and every vertical pipe coming down from the roof takes up floor space and narrows the corridors that material has to travel through. A siphonic layout reduces the number of downpipes, and because the horizontal collector runs at zero fall beneath the beams, no extra headroom is lost above the crane rail or the process equipment.
The sequence in Manisa was the same as anywhere else: a hydraulic calculation to TS EN 12056-3, selection of the Geberit Pluvia roof outlets, and sizing of the Geberit HDPE line between ø 40 and 315 mm. The system works on the vacuum that forms once the pipe runs full bore, typically between -0.30 and -0.45 bar in service. Welding follows DVS 2207 and is carried out by our own certified crew.
