What the calculation rests on
Rainfall intensity

Flow rate comes from roof area multiplied by rainfall intensity. That intensity varies by region, and the calculator uses the data for the province you select.

Full-bore flow

In a siphonic system the pipe runs full-bore, meaning a degree of filling of ψ = 1.0. A gravity pipe runs only partially full, so the same diameter carries far less. This is where siphonic drainage gets its half-the-diameter, twice-the-capacity claim.

The standard

The general standard for rainwater drainage in Türkiye is TS EN 12056-3. This preliminary calculation follows the same logic; at project stage the calculation is carried out with Geberit ProPlanner.
